Volunteer With UsHCAS hosts many off-site adoption and fundraising events throughout the year, and we need volunteers for all of them. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please e-mail hancock@comcast.net, or sign up for our events newsletter at: http://eepurl.com/e2gP. You can also call the shelter at (304) 387-4102. Volunteers must be 16 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Volunteers at PetSmart must be 13 years of age. All volunteers are required to sign a wavier. Volunteer OpportunitiesVolunteers at our off site events walk and play with our adoptable dogs and speak to potential adopters. Volunteers for these events must be comfortable handling large, sometimes very playful dogs. At the shelter we always need help with both our cats and dogs. Volunteers are need for cats to help clean cages and socialize the cats, and for dogs to walk them, play with them, and help clean kennels. We also need help with filing and other office work. If interested, please call the shelter at (304) 387-4012 or e-mail at hancock@comcast.net. We have other large events throughout the year, and we send out several mailings each year as well. Volunteers are needed to help with planning events, stuffing envelopes, sending out thank you letters and receipts for donations, and other adminintrative tasks. Foundation MeetingsHancock County Animal Shelter Foundation meetings are held every third Monday of the month starting at 6:30 p.m. Location varies, so if you are interested in attending, please let us know and we will call or e-mail you with the location. During these meetings we plan and brainstorm for upcoming events, and we'd love to have you join us!
